Secrets Of My Success And Existence Of Itguyforaday

Yes, there have been many many security holes in Windows mostly which allows your system to be compromised while you are online on the Internet as in file manipulation and even crashing your computer from remote. What can you do about it ? Check out some of the websites and/or software that I have listed below. There are internet websites which will test your computers security for you while you are online and others which will explain weakness in Windows Networking and Internet Access -

i bought my first computer - a broken Tandy or Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 4P - which ran or read maybe 10 to 20 different versions of CPM (many other brand name proprietary computers ran their own versions of CPM so CPM was also a standard but never caught on even though companies and businesses at the time used it), MSDOS, PCDOS, OS2 and Propiertary TANDY DOS, etc. for all I could tell or tried at the time - i purchased my first computer after getting a summer intern job there at a location of Ames Laboratory - DOE - Which had a Location on Campus as a Computer Programmer Converting and Modifying Fortran Code To Unix C++ in an attempt to get a GKS Graphical environmental package to run - and yes it finally ran with a spinning green graphical spherical globe like object on the screen and my boss at the time just stared at it in amazement - Yes, I made enough money from that job to purchase my first computer - Thank You - Thank You - Thank You - Thank You - - Yes, it was quite a beast - Yes i did meet a Group of Computer Hackers at Iowa State University who introduced me to all of this after i joined the ISU Computer Science Club at the time - - anyway this was a light portable or luggable computer which was broken with a bad communications - Uart chip - in a card on the main board called a dialup modem - 300 to 2400 baud or bps - which i repaired with a soldering iron and electronic schematics (Just From my High School Analog and Digital Electronics education - US Military book called GROBE) anyway back in my first year and first college - ISU - IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY in Ames, Iowa Home of the first Electronic Digital Computer as well - The Atanasoff Berry Computer - called the ABC Computer by John Vincent Atanasoff known as the father of the computer. but it didn't make the world news because it was over shadowed by a news event at that time otherwise it might have been famous and well known (Instead of attending University of California at Berkeley or UC Berkeley - where i was also accepted for admissions) That summer i also worked on campus at The Famous Government Department of Energy facility onsite - AMES LABORATORY - as my first real job straight from High School - as a Computer Programmer in Fortran and C - 1984 - 1985.

i used that same computer until mid to late 1990's and Pre-2000 - a computing marvel - got me partially

thru college as a student with no money before i built

my first IBM PC Compatible desktop or fliptop when i moved off campus at Southern Polytechnic State University in

Marietta Georgia after still using the TRS-80 Model 4P that i repaired while attending Iowa State University in Ames Iowa

in short, i used a computer or laptop to finish my education at an all online college after exploring several other online

colleges at the time and finally transferring from Southern Polytechnic State University To Devry University

local campus which was online in the Early Mid 2006 to 2008 maybe or so just by coming home from work and

sitting on my bed with a microphone or speaker hooked up if it wasn't already built in - to be able to hear and speak thru my laptop or computer

i was fixing laptops and selling laptops online at the time so i had my choice of laptops and i got my first

telecommunications job just because that local white telecommunications company just down the street from my school at the time saw my

website online where i was selling my laptops and other items in a separate - forsale page on my website - as an alternative to the - online all in one selling page - that was

taught by devry university web development and design course that they could never get their - page to work - but i

had already created a - forsale page and section - on my website years earlier and so i didn't need to use - their page

- one of the reasons i took their course for $$$$$ and got a full refund for taking that course because they didn't teach

me anything that I didn't already know from taking a similar course at Southern Polytechnic State University - and said

that was the reason one of the owners hired me and they also knew of the all black telecommunications company on the other side of town that

i ended up working for many years later after i left this company and after this local company trained me -

i created that website by taking a Continuating Education

Course at Southern Polytechnic State University Which was the only way it was offered while i was attending classes

there in the evening in the late 1996 or so and then also later Web Development and Design at Devry University after

Completing my BA Degree in Computer Science there earlier before then and this separate course and enrollment

appeared to be just a repetition of my earlier course except for a few items and no degree or certification was given at

either instances -

I couldn't believe finishing school could be that easy at an all online college instead of many years to just several

months class time just by having a computer and transfer credits from both Iowa State University and Southern

Polytechnic State University - so i went for it and got my BA Degree in Computer Science many years ahead of schedule

Without those computers none of this would have been possible because i used it to surf - COMPUTER

BULLETIN BOARD SYSTEMS - BBS systems - which were personal public personal computers you could

setup and allow logon running the BBS software just like independent businesses, companies or Internet sites -

BBS Systems were actually the First Internet Websites - Even though Some of Them were just Command Line And

Not Totally Graphical and some still actually exist and have not been upgraded or replaced yet - used as backup websites -

From there you would connect to USENET, and BITNET (bitlist), Companies and other public sites at the

time before the standard internet came about with websites as such.

The USENET and BITNET were freely available to college students attending most of the popular

universities and colleges and it was free there on ISU University Computer Systems as well as free internet

accounts while you were a student at most colleges and universities who used them to do school work as well as surf

the internet

if you had the luxury of owning your own computer you could just connect to the school computer system to do

your school work as well as surf in the internet for free. Otherwise i guess computer BBS Systems were popular for

surfing the internet since individual personal internet accounts weren't really poplar at that time otherwise the

members of the computer science club would have mentioned it. Lots of Adult, news, sports, videos, pics ,

etc and software of all types of various items of interest were available on these BBS Systems which you didn't have

to pay money for which were basically all free and there were even Specialty BBS Systems like the Swingers, Adult,

Sports, Weather, and Company BBS Systems to pick from huge lists sometimes and various others - plenty of porn,

news, sports, videos, pics , etc and software of all types in message sections of the BBS Systems all free if you could

connect to the BBS System as well as download and upload sections - 300 baud was the standard basic modem

speed for most personal computers at the time which grew from 1200, 2400, to 9600 and above.

These BBS Systems are probably still readily available out there since the old dialup modems are still available and

have been upgraded to the fax voice combo card modems which we use today which you can use as fax machines,

voicemail systems (which i had on one of my ibm pc compatible computers at the time for fax, voicemail and

modem), etc , with both generic and proprietary computer software - much cheaper than a fax machine if you had an

ibm pc compatible computer - i set this combination up for quite a few people while attending Southern Polytechnic

State University in Marietta Georgia - and i used to fax quite a bit back then from all over the world and had a proprietary

voicemail with remote access and pager and cellphone notifications , fax forwarding which was state of the art for

the features and options it provided just like having a company voicemail with a directory and names and a fax

menu - One of the individuals i worked with at that school had that type of fax voice modem combo card as well or an

upgraded version which he talked about from time to time

if you could afford a personal computer the standard command line interface was used at the time and depending

on the connection on the other end you could actually get a graphical or gui interface or screen instead of just command

line and could connect to a BBS System which were mostly graphical or gui - cpm operating systems was the standard

personal computer operating system with some companies having their own interchangeable versions or

completely different or proprietary version depending on the various computer companies at the time and pcdos or

msdos operating systems was just approaching beyond the horizon at the time and some of the personal computers

were even still compatible believe it and could run either or before the ibm pc compatible computer became the new

standard - os2 operating systems came out briefly but was a bit cumbersome and never became a standard -

i had a brief job at a computer company in Arlington Virginia building repairing and setting up ibm pc compatible

computers when they were just becoming popular and sold during Christmas rush during the late 1986 to 1988 after

leaving Iowa State University since I couldn't find another job there after my first summer internship job that summer

and i had took out a loan thru the school to be able to stay in school and couldn't return to school or transfer until i paid

off that loan and Living in the Virginia - Maryland - Washington D. C. Area which were just minutes apart from

each other via the famous interstate highway called the beltway -

of course I frequented BBS Systems in that area as well as well as some online BBS Systems at various University Of

Maryland Campuses where i planned to return to college but never did - the digital life and another world was out

there and accessible as well as content from all over the world and all walks of life

Email accounts were available on those BBS Systems for free but you had to access them from those particular

systems as long as the BBS System was running and sometimes several BBS Systems were actually linked or

networked together. So you could post messages on one System and pick read them on another System that it was linked to.

There finally came an event where all the BBS Systems were linked together and then they were finally linked to the

World Wide Web or Internet and Become The Original World Wide Web since everything was all accessible and

linked together as we know it which was When

i was still using Swinger Adult BBS Systems Which became

accessible by internet as well instead of just dialup modems before upgrading to Dsl and Other Connections
but of course by that time internet personal email accounts

were somewhat affordable but still slightly expensive to some and i had a few old ones before ending up with what i

have now as well as free ones if you didn't want to use your free school internet email account if you were a student.

For those who were aware, BBS Systems which were accessible by only dialup internet modems at the time and in

the beginning allowed you to create your own personal email accounts so you didn't

have to pay for an internet email account since those BBS Systems were basic standalone servers or connections or

systems. Those who setup their own BBS Systems from readily available free downloadable public software online were able to do

this and an old member and president of the ISU Computer Science Club did manage to setup his own BBS System on

his TRS Computer and had his own personal internet email address from which we would send him email and he actually

explained what it entailed - he later got a job working on campus there since he had his own personal computer.

Of course i downloaded the software and tried to set it up but never finished it after toying around with it a bit and

trying to decipher the computer programming code it was written in to see how it worked - one of my unfinished

projects while attending school. later all of these BBSes were linked and networked

together to form what we now know as the modern internet.

Windows Internet security links

Gibson Research - www.GRC.com (Will Test your systems security Online - SHIELD - in addition GRC offers HARDDRIVE REPAIR SOFTWARE called - SPINRITE - which has been around for years and is still available for your old harddrive or new harddrive if you don't want to throw it out just because it has bad - "SECTORS" - which i used to use all the time because it was "AFFORDABLE" and could recertify old or broken harddrives. The harddrive has clicks or crashes when it gets to a bad sector - sometimes causing Windows BSOD - blue screen of death - and you just can't seem to fix it, this is sometimes the cure when CHKDSK doesn't work. So starting out in computers i couldn't afford much so - SPINRITE - gave me a way out if i wanted to keep that old harddrive of mine spinning and didn't have money to replace it.
Zonelabs - Zonealarm - www.Zonelabs.com (Personal firewall software with free versions) One of the very best and first at that time till today as well as easiest to configure and use.
Black ICE Defender - (Another personal firewall software but not free) Which was still available at that time.
